Left C7 transforaminal injection

A-P fluoroscopic image demonstrating proper needle placement and contrast outlining the left C7 nerve nerve root. The patient is positioned supine for this injection. A mixture of steroid and local anesthetic is injected surrounding the offending nerve root following contrast administration. Typically, this procedure is performed for a condition that causes irritation of the left C7 nerve root, such as a disc extrusion at C6-7. In cases of uncertainty, this procedure may also be performed with local anesthetic alone for diagnostic purposes.
