We are excited to announce the addition of Dr. Chator to the Long Island Spine Rehabilitation Medicine family! Dr. Chator’s impressive background and dedication to providing optimal care make him an expert in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

Dr. Chator’s academic journey began at Johns Hopkins University where he graduated with honors, earning a Bachelor of Science in Molecular and Cellular Biology. Following this, he dedicated his time as a research assistant at the University of Michigan before achieving his M.D. degree from the Wayne State University School of Medicine. His pursuit of excellence led him to Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak for his internship and subsequently, to the University of Michigan for his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Here, he was honored with the coveted Gary Davidoff Research Award.

His commitment to advancing in the field saw him completing a Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship at Montefiore Health System – Burke Rehabilitation Hospital. During this period, Dr. Chator played a pivotal role in providing medical care to high school and collegiate athletes, New York City Football Club members, adaptive athletes, and also covered major athletic events like the NYC Marathon and Triathlon. Moreover, he took the initiative to craft a cutting-edge didactics program focusing on musculoskeletal ultrasound education for PM&R Residents at Burke Hospital.

Dr. Chator’s wealth of knowledge covers a vast array of areas including musculoskeletal ultrasound, ultrasound-guided injections, spinal disorders, orthobiologics, regenerative medicine, sport-related concussion research, degenerative joint disorders, as well as nerve entrapments and electrodiagnostics. His contributions to the medical community are not just confined to his practice but extend to presenting clinical cases at renowned medical assemblies and authoring essential PM&R articles.

Certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation, and board-eligible in sports medicine, Dr. Chator is a paragon of commitment and skill.

When he’s not immersed in his professional pursuits, Dr. Chator has a zest for life, enjoying rock climbing, kayaking, and traveling. He also loves a good board game and cherishes moments spent with his loved ones.
