After practicing for 25 years on Long Island and founding Long Island Spine Rehabilitation Medicine, a unique and nationally recognized group of six fellowship trained physiatrists, as well as four acupuncturists, specializing in comprehensive spine care and interventional non-surgical spine, orthopedic, and sports medicine, Dr Lipetz has been honored with the appointment of Medical Director for the newly launched Northwell Spine Institute. In this position, Dr. Lipetz will help to lead the clinical, educational, and research missions of the Institute which will serve patients throughout Long Island, the New York Metropolitan region, and Westchester. Dr. Lipetz will continue his role as the Chief of Spine Medicine for the Northwell Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
“Led by an interdisciplinary team of Frank Schwab, MD, Daniel Sciubba, MD, and Jason Lipetz, MD, the Spine Institute encompasses a range of specialties, including orthopedic surgery, neurosurgery, and physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R) and partners with Northwell’s network of experts across radiology, internal medicine, the Cancer Institute and the Katz Institute for Women’s Health, among others. The Spine Institute’s five pillars – clinical services, health equity, education and research, community engagement, and quality standards – underscore our commitment to advancing spine care and simplifying the patient experience. We are confident that this innovative approach will enable us to further improve clinical outcomes and enhance patient and provider experiences, solidifying Northwell’s position as the top destination for spine care.”
